Can you please tell me more about hindu funerals?

Hinduism allows for either cremation or burial, however infants are always buried. The Hindus do not erect tombs because the follow the idea that you should leave the earth the way you arrived, and to have no attachment upon one’s departure. Sending flowers after a Hindu person passes away would certainly be a kind gesture and would offend no one, but keep in mind that it’s a Western tradition not common in most Hindu communities. If you do send them, avoid bright colors (white is traditionally associated with Hindu funerals.)
