If

This is a question that really needs to be answered by a Funeral Director or the management staff of the cemetery in question.

Laws regarding burial, or scattering of ashes vary state to state and restrictions on burial can vary greatly cemetery to cemetery. It is a complex question that can only be answered appropriately by a professional familiar with state law and that particular cemetery’s restrictions.

The question above is the question at hand. My father has been buried and someone else’s ashes I believe has been scattered over his plot. I want to know my rights and what actions can be done to get ANSWERS and not be ignored. My mother has been asking over a year and has not had any success. I was just informed of this on Saturday, March 15, 2008 because she can no longer handle it. She thought she could take care of it but instead has been given the run around and is now very distraught. I am so hurt and infuriated that my mother was not contacted nor the priest to have permission to do such a thing. At my dad’s feet is a headstone that belongs to the person that is now deceased. Please help, PLEASE!!!! My email address is maj22@aol.com and if I can’t get assistance from you, then just let me know via email. Thank you for taking the time to read this email and look forward for a response.
