Why should we have a funeral in the first place?

It is the customary way to put closure for friends and family when a loved one passes. Funeral rituals have been around since before the beginning of recorded history and are practiced worldwide in every society. They give worth and dignity to the dead, and help friends and relatives begin the grief process. Every life lived deserves a funeral or memorial service to recognize what the person has accomplished in his or her life and to give closure to the family.
